Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Executive Director of Taos Whole Community Health
Dr. Rasa Lila O’Donnell ND earned a BA in Biology from the Colorado College. Her passion for ecological research lead her to study medicinal plants in Costa Rica with several indigenous tribes and began her journey learning both the science and spirit of medicine.
Dr. Lila received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2003. An Albuquerque native, she returned home to serve in an integrative urgent care clinic until 2006 where she employed herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, detoxification, nutrition and mind/body healing.
Dr. Lila became active in social justice as she began to understand the roots of illnesses such as addiction, anxiety and depression stem from poverty, oppression and trauma. She moved to Taos in 2016 to administer a grant through UNM and the Department of Labor to offer training and jobs in healthcare. Empowering people out of poverty is necessary for an equitable, healthy community. In the summer of 2018, Dr. Lila joined Taos Whole Community Health to deliver the services of the newly formed non-profit and continuing efforts to achieve health equity in New Mexico.
