Taos Whole Health is Seeking an Experienced Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Taos Whole Health team! Our Medical Assistants work with our doctors to perform routine administrative and clinical assignments and help keep our medical facility running smoothly.


  • Take medical histories, record vital signs, and prepare patient for exams

  • Explain treatment procedures to patients and assist providers

  • Schedule appointments and follow-ups for patients

  • Perform phlebotomy, collection and preparation of laboratory specimens

  • Sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms

  • Perform electrocardiograms

  • Administer vaccines and injections

  • Change sterile and non-sterile dressings

  • Document appropriately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

  • Assist in developing systems for monitoring ongoing patient care

  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by clinical staff

  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner

  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff

  • Communicate with insurance companies and pharmacies for patient care issues


  • Clinical experience in patient care setting (outpatient preferred)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program; or successful completion of the internal PMS Medical Assistant II training and assessment program

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing aide duties preferred

  • Must be deemed competent in phlebotomy at time of hire

  • Ability to speak Spanish desired

Taos Whole Health is Seeking an experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Taos Whole Health seeks an experienced medical front desk receptionist for our integrative medical clinic in Taos. The candidate must be highly proficient in computer skills and able to navigate multiple electronic medical records systems. We are looking for an individual with exceptional multi tasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize. The candidate must be able to run the front desk at a fast paced, growing medical clinic with multiple practitioners. Applicant must have excellent customer service experience.

This is a full time position.

Job Duties:

  • Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

  • Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.

  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival

  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.

  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.

  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients.

  • Maintains clinic inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.

  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
